BACKUP O/S LEVEL



# BACKUP THROUGH OS LEVEL
 Loin as username – DEVADM   Here DEV is name of the server & ADM is Admin.
Now search for a file named as INITDEV.SAP & open it with notepad.
Now change values from TAPE to DISK
      1.    Default : Disk
      2.    Backup_DEV_type : Disk
Now make a new folder in the drive where sap in installed and copy the path i.e. c:\sapbackup
Now paste the path:
1 Backup_Root_Dir   =    c:\sapbackup
2 Stage_Root_Dir      =    c:\sapbackup
3 Archive_Root_Dir    =    c:\sapbackup
4 Archive_Stage_Dir  =    c:\sapbackup
5 Recov_Copy_Dir     =     c:\sapbackup
Now open cmd & type BRTOOLS   4<- Backup & DB Copy, 2 <- , C <-, C <-, C <-, C <-,


# BACKUP & RESTORE O/S LEVEL

JUST RESTART THE SERVER & IN USER NAME PUT

USERNAME = <SID>ADM    I.E. – DEVADM
PASSWORD = ******* [SYSTEM PWD]

Here DEV is the SID or system name of the server whose backup you want to create & ADM is administrator.

Now search for a file where sap is installed file name is = initdev.sap here Dev is SID.
Then open this initdev.sap file with notepad or WordPad when you open this in notepad there will be value

Default : Tape      just change the name from ‘tape’ to “disk” in

      1.      Default : disk
      2.      Backup_dev_type = disk

Now in c: drive or in drive where server is installed just create a new folder named as SAPbackup or DBbackup & copy the path of the Dir i.e. c:\SAPbackup now again change values in initdev.sap

      1.      Backup_root_dir       :           c:\SAPbackup
      2.      Stage_root_dir           :          c:\SAPbackup
      3.      Archive_copy_dir      :           c:\SAPbackup
      4.      Archive_stage_dir     :           c:\SAPbackup
      5.      Recov_copy_dir         :           c:\SAPbackup

Then save it & open cmd in windows run  winkey+ r = run
